Aeste is a small Malaysian engineering-technology company specialising in hardware/software co-design of systems and platforms. Founded in 2000, our young team went on to design an electronic mobile authorisation service, and became the only two-time first phase Top 10 winners of both Venture 2001 and Venture 2002 competitions organised by McKinsey & Co.
Our vision is to bring beauty into the world through engineering elegant hardware and software solutions to convoluted problems. We are advocates of open-source and actively contribute to the community through our own projects. We take pride in trying to achieve our goal of ‘engineering elegance’ in all our endeavours.
Our leading open-source core has been independently benchmarked to be the world’s smallest and fastest 32-bit multi-threaded RISC microprocessor and finds use in both academia and industry, powering the core of several technology products such as USRP2 – a leading software defined radio development toolkit already used by several thousand developers world-wide.

Our technical internship programme is targeted at students who are looking for an opportunity to work on some real-world cutting-edge engineering problems. Due to the nature of the work involved, interns are encouraged to publish a technical paper at the end of the internship. Tasks cover the gamut from chip-design through to web development. While training will be provided in various technical areas, interns are expected to work independently on their tasks, under supervision.
